Access Statement for Quality Bed and Breakfast

 

Introduction

--------------------

We aim to cater for all the needs of all visitors in our luxury 7 bedroom bed and breakfast and restaurant, the following statement is a summary of our provision. Pre-Arrival

The main train station is 20 minutes away by car (Crewkerne or Axminster)

There is a local taxi service that has accessible taxis if required; we can make a booking for you.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

---------------------

On arrival to the property there are double entrance gates, these are open when we are open 18hrs a day.

There are marked parking bays and ample room for parking next to the rooms

The surface is level, flat and tarmac and no steps.

We can assist guests with luggage.

The village is 2 miles away with shop and P.O.

The main town ( Bridport  and West Bay) is 4.5 miles

( Lyme Regis ) is 7 miles.

 

Main Entrance

The front door to the public house is 90cm wide.

The back door to the Public House is always locked so please knock loudly.

The door is on the car park side if you require assistance during working hours; please blow your car horn. We will come to you.    

 

On entry into our pub there is a hallway

Wide enough for wheelchair access.

There is seating in our main bar

Which can be moved around. There are flagstones on the floor.

No steps. Dog water and bowl available.

Public Areas – WC

 

Bedrooms are en suite and large.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the pub on the ground floor. There is one step of 15cm.

Furniture is flexible and can be moved by request. Tables have underspace of 67cm x 135cm.

There are chairs without arms which can be moved to accommodate.

Menus are provided in large print or we can read these to you.

Bedrooms

There are 7 bedrooms, four on the ground floor and three on the first floor.

With normal stairs, not really suitable for easy access with disabilities.

3m20cm x 2m.70cm with shower, level and no steps

 

Bedroom 2

6m.10cm x 3m.40cm with shower, access to patio through French doors, no steps.

 

Bedroom 3

6m.10cm x 4m.30cm with bath & shower, as above

 

Bedroom 4

4m.30cm x 4m. 30cm bath & hand shower through lobby no steps.

 

All have level entrances and no steps; all doors to rooms and bathroom are 84cm wide at least 85 cm routes within the bedrooms to all areas, The floors are flat stone with sheep skin rugs that can be removed easily,

All switches and plugs conform to disabled requirements. All have flat screen satellite T V’s with remote control

Light switches are on both sides of beds

Each room has 2 armchairs.

 

Grounds and Gardens

We have a fairly large cottage garden at the front of our pub [flower border and lawn] for residents which are available to sit in [benches available] a large ornamental pond there is a separate children’s play area.

There are numerous public footpaths around the site, mainly walking through open countryside and on road.

Additional Information

Assistance dogs are welcomed.

Mobile phone reception is generally good

We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation.

We are a no smoking building [smoking is allowed in the pub garden where bins are provided].

We supply still or sparkling water in all the bedrooms, plus coffee & tea making facilities an iron and ironing board are also available.

Hair dryers.

Staff always available in an emergency to help.
